Jerry Stackhouse

Jerry Stackhouse, star forward guard for the Dallas Mavericks, brings a level of level of intensity and aggressiveness to the game few have seen before.  As a sophomore at the University of North Carolina, he led the Tar Heels in scoring, rebounding and steals.  Jerry’s professional dream was realized on June 28, 1995, when he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Jerry was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 1997 where he set a Pistons record for the most points scored in a single game and a franchise record for the highest single season scoring average. Jerry played for the Washington Wizards 2002-2004 and was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2004.

Since bursting onto the NBA scene, Jerry has developed a reputation as an all-star both “on-and-off” the court.  In 2001, he received the NBA's Community Assist Award for his off-court commitment and most recently created The Triple Threat Foundation to help streamline his efforts.  Witnessing the horrible effects of diabetes firsthand, Jerry established the Foundation to focus primarily on raising funds for diabetes research and educating our nation's youth about prevention, and encouraging behavioral changes that lesson the risk of developing the disease and other serious medical conditions caused by obesity.

Jerry resides in Dallas, is the father of 3, and a dedicated husband. He was born and grew up in Kinston, NC and is the youngest of 11 children.
